Sims Metal hosted the Minister and Alter Steel executives in Brisbane

The meeting also included updates on Alter Steel’s planned Pinkenba steel plant project, which is set to be established approximately one kilometer from Sims Metal’s Pinkenba site. The potential impact of this new facility—envisioned to be developed in phases as a strategic logistics and recycling hub—on the region’s industrial infrastructure was evaluated. The visit concluded with briefings on the future of logistics and raw material flows in the area.
