Serbian company BELT is building a new production facility in the Jezero industrial zone of Sremska Mitrovica. Sremska Mitrovica Mayor Branislav Nedimović visited the ongoing construction works and provided details about the investment.
The new facility will cover an area of 6,000 square metres and is expected to create approximately 40 new jobs. The facility is planned to become operational in February or March 2027.
Operations in Sremska Mitrovica to be expanded
During the site visit, a BELT representative stated that the company was established in 1991 and operates in the reinforcing steel segment for reinforced concrete structures.
The company currently employs around 30 people at its existing operations, while the workforce is expected to increase to 70 to 80 once the new facility becomes operational. The BELT representative also stated that support from the local administration played an important role in the new investment decision and that the company’s current expansion plans are focused on Sremska Mitrovica.
