In the statement made by the Ministry of Energy, it was recorded that the price of 20 liters of 95 octane gasoline increased from 174 thousand Lebanese liras (11 dollars) to 202 thousand Lebanese liras (approximately 14 dollars).
THE LAST TIME WAS MADE ON 17 SEPTEMBER
The last hike in fuel prices in the country was on September 17.
The economic crisis in the country entered a new phase after the removal of fuel subsidies. While there is a shortage of fuel at all gas stations across the country, long queues have formed in front of the stations in recent months.
In Lebanon, which was struggling with the worst economic crisis of the last 30 years, the state was subsidizing fuel through the Central Bank. The Central Bank announced in the past months that the foreign currency loans provided to fuel will be calculated over the free exchange rate, and that the subsidy for fuel will be removed as of August 12.
After the Central Bank's decision, the government announced that it would reduce the subsidy.
