In the United Arab Emirates, offers for 4sp ECAS-certified billets are at 465–467 USD/ton from China and 475 USD/ton from Indonesia. These shipments are planned for August delivery to the Jebel Ali and Sohar ports.
Last week, a UAE-based rolling mill reportedly booked two lots totaling 50,000 tons of 150 mm 4sp billets for Hamriyah Port. The target price was 462 USD/ton CFR (Cost and Freight). At the same time, ECAS-certified billet offers were around 463–465 USD/ton CFR.
In the scrap market, high stock levels have limited new purchases. Prices remained mostly stable, with slight changes in some categories. Mixed LMS scrap continues to trade in the range of 900–930 AED (245–254 USD). HMS 80:20 scrap is priced between 1,150–1,180 AED (314–322 USD), with a clear preference for higher-quality grades. Processed (cut) HMS 80:20 scrap saw a weekly increase of 20–30 AED (5.44–8.16 USD), reaching 1,200–1,215 AED (327–331 USD). In the 2x2 industrial scrap category, prices rose by 20 AED (5.44 USD) at the upper end, with overall levels ranging between 1,240–1,270 AED (338–346 USD). On the other hand, rebar cutting scrap prices declined slightly to 1,300–1,310 AED (354–357 USD), reflecting a weekly drop of 10 AED (2.72 USD).
