Scaw Metals achieved renewed Eco-Preferred GreenTag verification for rolled products

Scaw Metals has once again reinforced its commitment to sustainable production by obtaining the Eco-Preferred GreenTag certification for its Rolled Products. The products were found to be safe in terms of toxicity and support an environmentally responsible manufacturing approach through the use of sustainable and recycled steel.

Scaw Metals achieved renewed Eco-Preferred GreenTag verification for rolled products

South Africa-based Scaw Metals Group has received renewed “Eco-Preferred” verification under the Global GreenTagCert™ McV™ (Manufacturer Claim Verifications™) program for its Rolled Products range, which includes reinforcing bars, rods, mining bars, coils, grinding media bars, and mill rods. The assessment confirmed that the products pose no toxicity risks and successfully meet suitability tests for their intended applications.

According to a statement from Global GreenTag International, the company’s environmental claims were independently verified, and it fully complies with the social and environmental laws of the countries where it operates. This highlights that Scaw Metals Group not only maintains high production quality but also reinforces its commitments in corporate social responsibility.

With this verification, Scaw Metals Group has strengthened its position as an environmentally responsible and reliable manufacturer in the global market. In addition to South Africa, the company operates in Australia, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and Zambia, adopting a sustainable production approach that heavily relies on recycled steel scrap in its products.

Global GreenTag International, which conducted the verification process, is an independent organization offering global certification services for green, healthy, and ethical products. Registered in Australia, the USA, and Canada, the system ensures that over 16,000 products produced in more than 22 countries carry the Global GreenTag certification and are used worldwide in buildings and offices.
