Sanction decision from the USA to Russian steel producers!

The USA Treasury Department said in a statement that new sanctions have increased the pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin's partners and resources.

In the statement, it was noted that the Foreign Assets Control Office (OFAC) put the Kremlin-linked elites and Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) on the sanction list and blocked a yacht.

In the statement, which stated that the world-famous gymnast Alina Kabaeva was among the names added to the sanction list, it was reminded that Kabaeva is a former member of the Duma, the lower house of the Russian Parliament, and has a close relationship with Putin.

The statement noted that Kabaeva is the current head of the National Media Group, a pro-Kremlin television, radio and media organization.

In the ministry's statement, it was reported that Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK), one of the world's largest steel producers, and its chairman, Viktor Filippovich Rashnikov, were also added to the sanctions list. In the statement, it was pointed out that MMK is one of the largest taxpayers in Russia.

It was stated that Putin's close friend Andrey Grigoryevich Guryev is also on the sanctions list, and that the Cayman Islands flagged Alfa Nero yacht, which Guryev bought for 120 million dollars in 2014, was blocked.

In the statement of the Treasury Department, it was noted that the US Department of State also imposed visa restrictions on individuals and organizations, as well as additional sanctions.

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, whose views were included in the statement, stated that while innocent people suffered in the war started by Russia, Putin's allies got richer.

"The Treasury Department will use every means at its disposal to ensure that the Russian elite and Kremlin supporters are held accountable for complicity in a war that has claimed countless lives," Yellen said. made its assessment.
