SA Recycling has completed the acquisition of two recycling facilities owned by FPT

SA Recycling, one of the leading metal recycling companies in the United States, has officially completed the acquisition of two facilities belonging to Ferrous Processing & Trading (FPT). The company has thus become the new owner and operator of two former FPT facilities in Florida.

SA Recycling has completed the acquisition of two recycling facilities owned by FPT

The acquisition initiative was first brought up during Cleveland-Cliffs Inc.’s earnings conference call held in October. By cross-referencing information from both companies’ websites, it was confirmed that the facilities acquired by SA Recycling, headquartered in Orange, California, include the facility located at NW N. River Drive in Miami and the FPT facility situated at Northwest 21st Terrace in Fort Lauderdale. Notably, an auto dismantling operation is also conducted at the Miami address.

According to its website, SA Recycling operates more than 150 facilities across the United States. The company is no stranger to the Florida market, as it already runs recycling operations in Davie, Miami, Opa-locka, and Pompano Beach.

Management of Cleveland-Cliffs, headquartered in Cleveland, indicated in statements made in October 2025 that the remaining facilities within FPT could also be put up for sale. CEO Lourenço Gonçalves stated during the call: “We are very excited about the opportunity to continue selling the remaining portions of FPT.”

FPT traces its origins to Detroit, and its recycling network is predominantly concentrated in the Midwest. According to information on FPT’s website, the company operates a total of 26 locations: 12 in Michigan, 7 in Ohio, 2 in Mississippi, and 2 in Tennessee. Additionally, it maintains one facility each in Illinois, Ontario (Canada), and Mexico. This distribution underscores FPT’s operational structure, which is largely centered in Michigan and Ohio.
