According to the company's press service, Qarmet produced more than 330,000 tonnes of steel in May, the best result in five years. While steel production reached 300,000 tonnes in March and April, the 10% increase in May exceeded the planned expectations of steelmakers.
The press service said that this achievement was possible thanks to the well-coordinated work of the teams accessing all three converters. In May, a new converter No. 2 was started up, which contributed to the increase in production capacity.
Revitalising production capacity is one of Qarmet's top priorities. Today, the company is actively modernising the plant and other structures to improve production performance and efficiency.
