OPEC: Oil will have the largest share of energy by 2045

POPULATION INCREASE IN ASIAN, AFRICA AND THE MIDDLE EAST WILL AFFECT DEMAND

The energy demand of non-OECD countries will increase by 76 million 500 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day by 2045 to 250 million barrels of oil equivalent and will constitute more than 70 percent of the global primary energy demand. Population growth and growing economies in Asia, Africa and the Middle East will play a role in this growth.

ENERGY DEMAND WILL PEAK IN THE MEDIUM TERM

The energy demand of OECD countries, which is expected to follow a horizontal course in the long term with the intensification of studies on energy efficiency and the use of low-carbon technologies, will peak in the medium term with a partial recovery from the epidemic, and in 2045, as in 2020, it will decrease to approximately 102 million barrels of oil equivalent per day.
