The company aims for the products, marketed under its environmentally friendly "Fine Eco Metal" brand, to contribute to the development of next generation energy and electronic systems by reducing energy losses in high frequency applications.
Certified according to the company's own environmental standards, the "Fine Eco Metal" brand represents NIPPON KINZOKU's environmentally friendly Eco Products lineup.
The company stated that as the global transition toward a carbon neutral economy accelerates, demand for electrification and energy efficient equipment continues to increase. As a result, reducing core losses in high frequency applications has become increasingly important.
NIPPON KINZOKU stated that, through years of development in rolling and advanced heat treatment technologies, it has successfully combined an ultra thin structure with high magnetic performance, a combination that has traditionally been difficult to achieve in conventional electrical steel. By positioning these products under the "Fine Eco Metal" brand, the company aims to expand its solutions globally for customers developing next generation technologies.
GT Series developed for high frequency applications
The GT Series consists of ultra thin grain oriented electrical steel strips that align the crystal grain orientation in a specific direction, providing superior magnetic properties along that axis.
With thicknesses ranging from 0.04 mm to 0.10 mm, the product is significantly thinner than conventional grain oriented electrical steel. This reduces eddy current losses and improves efficiency under high frequency operating conditions.
The GT Series is designed for applications including high frequency transformers, reactors, pulse power supplies, and magnetic shielding systems.
ST Series designed to improve motor efficiency
The ST Series consists of ultra thin non oriented electrical steel strips that provide uniform magnetic properties in all directions.
According to the company, the product significantly reduces eddy current losses in motors and delivers low core loss across a high frequency range of 400 Hz to 20,000 Hz. These characteristics improve motor efficiency while enabling more compact motor designs.
The ST Series is expected to be used in a wide range of high performance applications, including drone motors, electric compressor motors, high speed medical motors, and cryogenic motors.
NIPPON KINZOKU stated that expanding the global presence of the GT and ST Series will contribute to the advancement of high efficiency motors, next generation power electronics, and high frequency transformer technologies.
