According to the ministry, the definitive antidumping duties will apply to galvanized wire classified under HS code 7217.20.99.00 and will remain in force for a period of five years.
The decision follows an investigation launched by Morocco in December 2025 into imports of the product. Following the publication of its preliminary findings, the ministry concluded that the dumped imports posed a significant threat of injury to the domestic industry and established a causal link between the imports and the injury.
Under the final decision, galvanized wire exported by UAE-based Al Khaleej Steel Industries will be subject to a definitive antidumping duty of 18.44%, while all other producers and exporters from the UAE will face a duty of 52.71%. For Egypt, a definitive antidumping duty of 46% was imposed on The Egyptian Union for Wires (MAFO) as well as all other Egyptian producers and exporters.
The measure is part of Morocco's broader efforts to strengthen trade defense measures on steel products in recent months. The country had previously imposed definitive antidumping duties on cold rolled steel sheet imports originating from Egypt.
