Electricity shortages spreading in China affected the steel industry, while more than 80 steel mills suspended their production. While some of the factories are undergoing scheduled maintenance, it is estimated that others have closed their quarries due to power cuts.
According to Mysteel's report, there is a shortage of supplies in some steel products due to large-scale production losses in Jiangsu province.
The electricity shortages, which spread to at least 20 provinces in China, especially affect heavy industry facilities that are in energy-intensive production.
