MMK Metalurji takes to production over again
After the big earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş, MMK stopped its activities for the factory in Dörtyol/Hatay and takes to production again. In the report announced by the experts in the damage assessment studies, it was determined that there was no negative damage that would prevent the activity. Company executives have drawn up a phased plan to resume production. First of all, the work on the continuous pickling unit and the reversible mill was started.
The metal obtained from them meets the full load of the MMK Group factory in Dilovası with its continuous hot-dip galvanizing unit and a polymer coating unit. Simultaneously with the commissioning of the first production lines, specialists carry out additional strengthening of structures and all work and controls for other units of the complex.
With the resumption of production, MMK continues to support the Metallurgy personnel. It is among the information that there are personnel residing in the enterprise and that all support continues. At the same time, MMK Metallurgical houses started permanent housing works for its severely damaged and destroyed personnel.
MMK Metallurgy director Denis Kvasov made a statement on the subject
"It is now important for everyone in Turkey to return to normal life as soon as possible. For this reason, we have decided to start work gradually in order to ensure safe production. This is important for both the people and the company." Denis Kvasov, director of MMK Metallurgy, said: "Our products will now be very necessary for the restoration of the affected areas and we are ready to contribute to this work."
