MIR Expo 2025 brought together the ferrous and non-ferrous scrap industry in Moscow

MIR Expo 2025, one of the world's leading events in the field of metals and industrial technologies, opened its doors at the Expocentre in Moscow. The event brings together local and foreign representatives of the ferrous and non-ferrous scrap industry and hosts important sessions where the latest developments and cooperation opportunities in the sector are discussed.

Bringing together the world's leading metal, machinery and industrial technology companies, MIR Expo 2025 opened its doors at the Expocentre in Moscow between April 16-18. The event, organized for the 20th time this year with SteelRadar as a speaker, aims to offer innovative solutions and cooperation opportunities to industry professionals.

On the first day, the “Stainless steel scrap market in Russia” conference was organized. In the conference; stainless steel and scrap market in the Russian Federation between 1992-2030, new stainless steel production facilities, the role of stainless steel imports and exports, regulation of stainless steel scrap exports were discussed.

In addition, a round table event was organized where the topics of sustainable development of the Russian stainless steel market and whether Russia needs to export stainless steel scrap were discussed by Mrat Boltaevich Abdualinov, Director of PC Metallinvest Omsk, Igor Vladimirovich Balashev, Executive Director of Intermettrade, Evgeny Borisovich Konyakhin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of YUG-MET Production Holding.

In the afternoon session of the event; Current Scrap Market Situation: Time to close or develop, the economics of the scrap yard today and tomorrow, what will happen to the scrap market in 2025-2026? Suggestions were discussed.

On the second day, round tables will be held on recycling technologies, financial strategies and logistics. In addition, SteelRadar experts will make a presentation on the scrap market and trade relations between Russia and Türkiye. The day will continue with sessions on strategic government regulations and licensing processes.

The third day will continue with customer conferences and workshops in specific areas such as copper, stainless steel and precious metals.
