Megasa resumes production at its plants in Portugal

Megasa suspended production at its SN Seixal and SN Maia plants in Portugal, the largest electricity and gas consumer in Portugal, on March 5 due to high energy costs. It is known that the production shutdown does not affect the rolling lines that continue to operate using billet from stock. The SN Seixal and SN Maia factories, where wire rod, rebar and welded wire mesh are produced, resumed their operations last weekend. The increase in energy costs after Russia's invasion of Ukraine caused Megasa to temporarily stop its activities in Spain. It is known that the company's production, which was suspended in Spain, will be back in operation by the weekend.
