Long product manufacturing in May decreased by 3 percent compared to April, while consumption decreased by 5 percent

According to the data of Turkish Steel Producers Association (TÇÜD), long product manufacturing decreased by 3 percent to 1 million 948 thousand tons, consumption decreased by 5 percent to 1 million 707 thousand tons in May compared to April.

The Kahramanmaraş earthquake that took place in February greatly affected the steel industry in February and March.

Turkey's long product manufacturing decreased from 1 million 865 thousand tons to 1 million 604 thousand tons in February with a decrease of 14 percent compared to the first month of the year.

There was an 11 percent decrease in consumption.

In the said period, long product consumption decreased from 1 million 472 thousand tons to 1 million 303 thousand tons.

In the first 5 months of the year, Turkey's long product manufacturing and consumption was at its highest in March.

Long product manufacturing in March increased by 35 percent compared to February and reached 2 million 161 thousand tons, consumption increased by 43 percent to 1 million 857 thousand tons.

Long product manufacturing decreased by 7 percent to 2 million 8 thousand tons in April compared to March, while consumption decreased by 3 percent to 1 million 802 thousand tons in the said period.

Long product manufacturing in May was 1 million 948 thousand tons with a 3 percent decrease compared to April, while consumption was 1 million 707 thousand tons with a 5 percent decrease.

Turkey's long product manufacturing in May fell to 1 million 948 thousand tons with a decrease of 60 thousand tons compared to the previous month of the year, while its consumption decreased to 1 million 707 thousand tons with a decrease of 95 thousand tons.

 

Balance between manufacturing and consumption of long products in the January - May period

Ratio of long product manufacturing to consumption in January It is 27 percent (393 thousand tons) high.

The ratio of production to consumption in February, March, April and May, respectively; 23 percent (301 thousand tons), 16 percent (304 thousand tons), 11 percent (206 thousand tons), 14 percent (241 thousand tons).
