Lignite salable production increased

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the Solid Fuels data for September 2022. According to the announced data, lignite production was 6 million 653 thousand 341 tons in September. Lignite salable production increased by 3.7 percent in September compared to the previous month and by 3.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

Lignite salable production increased

While the salable production of hard coal decreased by 2.6 percent in September compared to the previous month, it increased by 5.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. The salable production of hard coal coke was 409 thousand 929 tons in September. This production increased by 0.5 percent compared to the previous month and by 0.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. Hard coal imports were 3 million 225 thousand 543 tons in September. Hard coal imports decreased by 10.1 percent in September compared to the previous month and by 3.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

Hard coal coke imports decreased by 57.4 percent in September compared to the previous month and by 22.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In September, the highest rate of production to deliveries was realized in lignite. The ratio of production to deliveries was realized in lignite with 106.2 percent in September. This rate was calculated as 91.9 percent in hard coal coke and 3.9 percent in hard coal.

Hard coal and lignite deliveries were made mostly to thermal power plants. In September, 60.8 percent of hard coal deliveries were made to thermal power plants, 15.0 percent to coke plants, 10.5 percent to industries excluding iron and steel, 81.9% of lignite deliveries to thermal power plants and 10.4 percent. ' was made for industry other than iron and steel. In the case of hard coal coke, the highest delivery was made to the iron and steel industry with 96.2 percent.
