The Italian Acciai Speciali Terni (AST) stainless steel mill of the ThyssenKrupp material service unit plans to increase its annual production of stainless steel tubes from 65,000 to 90,000 tonnes by 2018.
About 70 per cent of these are 400 series stainless steel tubes and the rest are 300 series stainless steel tubes. These tubes will be used exclusively in the automotive industry.
