Iron ore shipments in Brazil increased by 24 % on a weekly basis

The total iron ore volume, which was referred to global arrival points from 19 ports and 16 mining companies in Australia and Brazil, increased to 23 million tons with an increase of 4.5 million tons or 24.4% per week due to high transport volumes on February 13-19.

According to the Steelradar correspondent, the Australian ore, which was referred to the worldwide, reached 17.6 million tons with an increase in 4.9 million tons or 38.3 %a week after the decline in the previous week. In total, the volume sent to China, the country's largest consumers, increased by 4 million tons per week or 34.9 %to 15.4 million tons.

All of the three largest miners in Australia increased their iron ore shipments to China last week.

Rio Tinto increased the transport volume to 5.1 million tons with a significant 1.8 million tons or 53% per week, BHP shipments increased to 1 million tons or 28.9% per week to 4.6 million tons, and the tonnage of FortescuE Metals Group increased by 783,000 tons or reached 26.7% to 3.7 million tons per week.

In contrast, Brazil reduced its iron ore shipment to global targets in the same period to 550,000 tons or 6.1% per week and decreased to 5.4 million tons, and the tonnage from Vale decreased to 823,000 tons per week or 18.2 %to 3.7 million tons.

On February 20-26, the two docks in the port of Pot Walcott, Australia, were planned to go through maintenance work for five days.
