Iran's PERED technology realizes its first international engineering export

PERED (Permanent Reaction Enhanced Diffusion), Iran's indigenously developed advanced steel production technology, is entering the international market for the first time. This innovative sponge iron production method stands out with its high energy efficiency, low carbon emissions and cost-effective structure.

Iran's PERED technology realizes its first international engineering export

According to a statement released by the Iranian Iron and Steel Industrialists Association, PERED technology has successfully completed the test phases and the first export agreements have been signed. Many countries, especially East Asian and Middle Eastern countries, have started negotiations with Iran on licensing this technology.

Under the coordination of Iran's Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade, the first international engineering export agreement of PERED, the domestic sponge iron production technology, was signed with Kazakhstan. According to the agreement, PERED technology will be implemented in Kazakhstan by MME company of AscoTek Holding. This agreement marked the beginning of the export of PERED technology, which will be used in a plant with a capacity of 800 thousand tons per year.

Prof. Reza Mahdavi, who led the development of the technology, said: "PERED consumes 30% less energy and causes less damage to the environment than traditional methods. It also provides a great advantage for energy independence as it can run on domestic resources such as natural gas."

Experts say that this development is an important milestone for Iran's steel industry to gain global competitiveness and take a leading role in environmentally friendly technologies.
