Sarıtaş Çelik Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ started to invest in a domestic and national integrated production facility with an annual capacity of 800 thousand tons in Yalova Machinery Specialized Organized Industrial Zone (OSB).
According to a statement made by the company, Sarıtaş Çelik Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ aims to increase Türkiye's export potential with the integrated stainless steel production facility in Yalova.
The company will realize the investment process in four phases. The cold rolling facilities to be established within the scope of the first two phases of the investment are planned to be commissioned in 2027. In this context, the company will provide additional employment for 500 people with an annual production capacity of 400 thousand tons.
With the third stage hot rolling facility, which is planned to start operations in 2028, total production is expected to reach 800 thousand tons and employment is expected to reach 700 people.
The company will gather all production processes (melt-to-finish) under a single roof with the steel melting plant to be commissioned by 2030. Thus, the fully integrated facility structure that directly employs 1200 people will be completed.
On the other hand, the engineering planning of the investment is being carried out in line with sustainability principles.
The facilities will include highly energy efficient equipment, process automation systems, digital traceability solutions and waste recycling infrastructures. Thus, the company aims to set an example for the sector in terms of environmental responsibility as well as production performance.
The company's existing processing center, which currently operates in the Gebze Organized Industrial Zone with a staff of 350 people and has an annual processing capacity of 750 thousand tons, will operate simultaneously with the new integrated facility.
By continuing its value-added services such as slitting, cut-to-length, grinding, painting, special surface treatments and anti-fingerprint coating, the company will continue to offer flexible and high-quality solutions to industry.
- 'The way to industrial sovereignty is through integrated structures'
Ercüment Sarıtaş, Chairman of the Board of Sarıtaş Steel, noted that the investment is a strong step towards Türkiye's industrial independence and stated:
"This integrated facility investment we have initiated in Yalova OSB is not only a capacity increase, but also a step to increase Türkiye's domestic and national production power in stainless steel, reduce its foreign dependency and strengthen its high value-added industrial model. With this investment, we will manage the entire chain from melting to the final product within our organization and meet the needs of both the domestic market and exports with domestic resources. The way to industrial sovereignty is through integrated structures that can process their own raw materials. We are moving forward with this vision."
Sarıtaş explained that they have believed in the industry in the country for 65 years, that they have been defending the transformative power of production, and pointed out that they are a brand that exports to 74 countries.
Stating that with this investment they have not only increased their production power but also Türkiye's global reputation, Sarıtaş added, "Sarıtaş is not only a manufacturer, but also a structure that offers solution partnership to the industry, especially in sectors such as white goods, automotive, food, machinery manufacturing, energy, chemistry, defense industry, shipbuilding and construction. We are walking into the future with production, investment and cooperation."
