Infrastructure assurance with Steel and Cast Iron from the Saudi National Water Company

The Saudi National Water Company (NWC) has announced four major projects to strengthen water and sewage infrastructure in 2025. One of the most notable investments is the construction of two steel water tanks in Al Awjam, each with a capacity of 50,000 cubic meters. These tanks will be built alongside a pump station consisting of three pump units and supporting buildings. Additionally, a transmission line of over 13 kilometers, composed of steel and cast iron pipes, is part of the project. This infrastructure is expected to significantly improve the region's water supply security.

As part of the project, a transmission line will extend from the Al Awjam water reservoir to the Al Jaroudia and Tarout reservoirs. Key components of this infrastructure include a 800 mm diameter and 4-kilometer-long cast iron main line connecting to Al Awjam, a 1,000 mm diameter and 6.5-kilometer-long cast iron transmission line extending to Tarout, and an 800 mm diameter and 2.1-kilometer-long carbon steel feed line connecting to the new operational tanks.

The steel-based infrastructure elements are expected to provide both durability and long life, contributing significantly to Saudi Arabia's sustainable water management goals.
