The products were manufactured by PT Trimitra Fabrikasi Engineering (PT TFE) for export under the June 2026 shipment period. Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, Fajarini Puntodewi, stated that the shipment demonstrates Indonesia’s capability to produce advanced and globally competitive manufactured products.
Puntodewi, in a statement released in Jakarta, emphasized that the Ministry of Trade strongly supports efforts to increase exports of high value added manufactured products. She also noted that the shipment is expected to encourage more companies to expand their value added export activities.
Puntodewi stated that structural steel manufacturing represents a transition from raw metal exports toward higher value production through more advanced engineering and precision manufacturing. This development supports Indonesia’s downstream policy, which aims to increase local value creation, employment, and the contribution of the manufacturing sector to exports.
Puntodewi stated that exports of structural steel manufactured products reached USD 39.68 million in the January–April 2026 period. This segment has shown a growth trend of 6.08% over the past five years.
The Ministry of Trade reported that this growth reflects strong global demand for Indonesian steel manufacturing products, while PT TFE continues to expand into higher value added markets, including Canada.
