Coal based energy production, which constituted %76,59 of the energy production of the country, amounted to 85,579 million in the same month of the previous fiscal year.
According to the monthly (temporary) data of Coal Ministry on December 2022, both the coal-based and total electric production increased yearly on December 2022. Compared with December 2021, coal-based energy production increased by %15,03 in 2022 and total power production in December 2022 was %13.65 higher than the energy production in December 2021.
Similarly, total electricity production increased from 1,18.029 million in November 2022 to 1,28,536 million in December last year and recorded a growth of 8.90 percent.
However, lignite-based power production decreased marginally to 2,227 million units in December compared to 2,272 MT in the same month of the previous fiscal year.
Electricity production from hydroelectric power last month increased 5.94 percent to 9,132 million units, up from 8,620 million units the previous year.
