US, HDG prices were stable, while CRC prices increased

Throughout the holiday week, the prices of hot-dipped galvanized (HDG) and cold-rolled coil (CRC) in the United States exhibited divergent trends.

During the holiday week, the prices of hot-dipped galvanized (HDG) and cold-rolled coil (CRC) in the United States went in different directions. The ex-works price of HDG remained unchanged at $1,000 per short ton (st), while the ex-works assessment of CRC increased by $40/st to reach $1,060/st. This marks the first price increase for CRC since mid-April. Since mid-April, HDG prices have fallen by 27%, while CRC prices have dropped by 23% from their peak in early April.

A buyer managed to purchase less than 1,000st of HDG for $960/st, while a mill reported selling unspecified quantities at $1,150/st. There were repeatable offers within the range of $1,000 to $1,080/st for HDG. In the case of CRC, repeatable offers were reported between $1,060 and $1,100/st, with the same mill selling unspecified volumes at $1,150/st.
