Imported scrap prices decreased in India

Import scrap prices in India softened this week as buying activity decreased due to increased material availability.

Imported scrap prices decreased in India

This week, offered prices for European shredded scrap were at $525-530/t CFR. Foreign HMS 1&2 (80:20) was available at $410-415/t CFR. A contract for HMS 1&2 in bundles from Hong Kong was signed at $420/t CFR this week for October shipment.

Traders expect prices to bounce back in India as soon as demand improves in Turkiye.
