With the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, scrap prices, which were $510 at the end of February, peaked at $653 in the first week of April. With the moderate reconciliation news, prices started a downward trend in the third quarter of April. And with the supply-demand balance reflected from global markets to local markets in two months, prices saw the lowest figures of 2021 and 2022 today.
Scrap prices, which were as low as $390 last week, dropped another $10 yesterday to $380.
While the tonnage details are not known, an Iskenderun based producer booked a UK origin cargo containing 80/20 at $380/ton yesterday.
