Huttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann achieved a notable rise in the global ranking

According to the 2025 data released by the World Steel Association, Huttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann (HKM) climbed to higher positions in the ranking of the world's largest steel producers despite a decline in its production volume.

Huttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann achieved a notable rise in the global ranking

German steel producer Huttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann (HKM) saw its annual crude steel production decline from 4.12 million tons in 2024 to 3.74 million tons in 2025. While the company's total output decreased by approximately 9.2%, its position in the global ranking moved upward. Ranked 81st in 2024, HKM climbed eight places to secure 73rd position in the global league table in 2025.

This rise in the global ranking reflects the broader contraction experienced by many steel producers worldwide, particularly in the European market, during 2025. More pronounced production declines among HKM’s competitors enabled the German producer to improve its standing despite lower output. Industry analysts view this shift as part of a broader restructuring of global steel supply.

Operating as an integrated steelworks, HKM remains focused on decarbonization and green transformation, two of the most important priorities for the European steel industry. The company aims to strengthen its position in the global market through modernization projects and sustainability investments designed to reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and gradually integrate new technologies into its production processes.

Based in Duisburg, Germany, Huttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann is a strategic steel production facility established through the partnership of several major industrial groups. The company produces high-quality slabs and blooms (semi-finished steel products) for sectors such as automotive, machinery manufacturing, and heavy industry. With its broad product portfolio and high production standards, the plant plays an important role in Europe’s industrial supply chain.
