Product offers increased by 30-50 €/tonne on average compared to the previous month. This growth trend remained stable with product prices increasing by 5-10 €/ton each week.
As of March 24, 2023, hot rolled steel offers in Northern Europe stood at $820-850/t, which is 3.6 percent higher than the price on February 24. A similar trend was observed in Southern Europe, but the price level was lower. During the month, the price of hot rolled steel in this region increased by €40/t to €780-800/t.
In the Italian market in March, the prices of rolled products increased by €50/t to €780-800/t.
It is expected that the upward trend in hot rolled steel prices will continue in the second quarter of the year and the long-term price increase will depend on inflation control, economic growth and the recovery in demand in the construction and infrastructure sectors.
