Hope of IMF is the end of the year

Kristalina Georgieva, Head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), predicted that global economic growth will begin to recover towards the end of this year.

Hope of IMF is the end of the year
At the press conference, Georgieva made evaluations about the global economy. Noting that the recent decreases in global growth may be coming to an end, Georgieva expressed optimism that economic growth could accelerate next year.
Pointing out that the storm clouds over the world economy may soon dissipate, Georgieva said, "We think we are coming out of the bottom."
Noting that the IMF is not expected to cut its growth forecast of 2.7% for 2023, Georgieva said, "Towards the end of 2023, hopefully in 2024 we will see a reversal of the trend towards a higher growth path." Georgieva pointed out that it will still be a difficult year and that the global economy remains fragile, adding that inflation remains stubbornly high and the cost-of-living crisis is not over.

Optimistic for the U.S.
Stating that it is impossible to predict what crisis awaits the world, Georgieva said that there is increasing evidence that the US economy can also avoid a recession this year, and even if a recession occurs, it will probably be mild.
Georgieva, Head of IMF, noted that labor markets in the US are resilient and consumer demand remains strong despite increases in interest rates to combat inflation.
