The Momentum is specifically designed for international maritime operations and is capable of seamlessly docking at deep-water ports such as Dung Quat, which plays a critical role in Hoa Phat’s steel production. The vessel will be deployed on long-distance routes, including Australia, the Americas, and Asia, where Hoa Phat imports key raw materials such as iron ore and coal.
With this investment, the company is not only preparing for increased production at the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Iron and Steel Complex located in the Quang Ngai region, but also aiming to boost its shipping capacity. This will enable greater autonomy in the supply chain and enhance resilience against global logistics cost fluctuations.
As part of its long-term strategy, Hoa Phat Group plans to expand its maritime fleet to 15 to 20 vessels with large cargo capacities. This expansion will not only meet the group’s internal logistics needs but will also enable it to provide transportation services to both domestic and international business partners.
