According to the data, the combined total of domestic sales and exports recorded a 1% year-on-year decline in April.
In detail, compared to the same month last year, domestic sales fell by 1%, exports declined by 2%, and total sales decreased by 1%. In contrast, a 12% increase in production stood out.
In its statement, the Turkish White Goods Manufacturers Association said that the rise in production was a positive development, but activity on the sales side has not yet reached the desired level.
Looking at the cumulative data for the January–April 2026 period, domestic sales decreased by 8%, exports by 18%, production by 14%, and total sales by 14%. This picture pointed to continued weakness in both domestic and foreign markets.
The association also emphasized that production and export capacity must be preserved in order to reverse the weak outlook in exports and the domestic market. The statement noted that it is critically important to avoid practices that could increase input costs, adding that the anti-dumping investigation concerning cold-rolled galvanized and pre-painted steel products, which is expected to conclude soon, should be finalized without measures while taking into account the broader interests of both the sector and the economy.
