Welspun approves $100 million investment to upgrade US pipe manufacturing

Welspun Corp, an Indian multinational company involved in steel pipe and plate manufacturing, has approved a $100 million investment to enhance its high-frequency induction welding pipe manufacturing and coating facilities in the United States. This investment, announced on Monday, will be implemented through Welspun Pipes, a wholly owned subsidiary, and is set to be completed over the next 18 months. The upgrades aim to expand production capacity and improve efficiency to meet the increasing demand for high-quality pipe products in the U.S. market.

The investment will be financed through a combination of local debt and internal resources. Welspun plans to use the funds to improve manufacturing processes, focusing on high-frequency induction welding technology, which is key to producing durable and precise pipes. These enhancements will allow the company to cater to various industries, including oil and gas, construction, and infrastructure.
