Kaptan Haddecilik, which started iron and steel production with the first rolling mill established in Karabük in 1964, today produces at international standards with its steel mill, rolling mill and oxygen factory in the Thrace region. It produces internationally certified iron and steel for world markets with its 1 million 400 thousand tons of annual billet capacity and 3 rolling mills with a total construction iron capacity of 1 million tons/year.

Yücetan, who started his speech by stating that they act with a sense of responsibility towards society and the environment in the iron and steel industry, stated that they ensure continuous development by using all resources in the most efficient way. Stating that they adopted the principle of keeping external dependency at a minimum level and offering competitive products and services in target markets, Yücetan said, “Our goals and objectives are to make all employees believe in energy saving, to make them feel that energy can be used more economically with the necessary information and resources to increase energy efficiency, and to ensure that technological developments are implemented in all units. By applying it to processes, gaining energy efficiency, reducing unit energy consumption by improving and updating production processes, reducing fuel optimization and maintenance costs, increasing energy efficiency by using information and communication technologies, reducing production loss by developing maintenance and production technologies, improving process reliability, quality and efficiency. increasing the amount of by-product fuels, reducing the purchased energies, improving the combustion processes of fuels, ensuring energy efficiency and reducing environmental pollution. is to reduce the marrow,” he said.

Raw material crisis

Expressing that they expect the markets to return to normal in the post-holiday period, Yücetan Group Companies General Manager Hüseyin Yücetan stated that the industry is in a difficult situation due to the raw materials being dependent on abroad, and said, “For example, if there is a 1 dollar increase abroad, the manufacturer companies in Turkey will increase the price by 20 percent, even though they have the materials in their hands. they take it out. Until a year and a half ago, we were selling iron to dealers for 1500 TL. Now, this figure has become 7 thousand 500 TL. It's a very deplorable situation. This slows down the construction industry.”
