Voestalpine, the Austrian-based global steel and welding technology company with more than 50,000 employees, represented by 500 Group companies in 50 countries on 5 continents, has acquired a majority stake in Italy-based ITALFIL SpA.
ITALFIL SpA is one of the leading companies in premium welding wire, and in 2015, it added the production of a new generation of copper-free wires. By acquiring a majority stake in the Italian company, Voestalpine is expanding its product portfolio in the semi-automated and automated high-tech sector and thus offering its customers a greater choice of solutions.
Employing 110 people, the Italy-based plant achieved a turnover of EUR 43 million last year.
