Vietnam plans to reconsider import policies

Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade plans to reconsider the country's import policies. The two different types of steel products that will be focused on during this review process are color coated sheets and stainless cold rolled sheets.

Anti-dumping duties on stainless steel cold-rolled rolls, strips and sheets were first implemented in Vietnam in 2014 and these duties are scheduled to expire in October 2024. These tax rates vary between 10.97% and 37.29%. October 2019, the import of polymer coated carbon and alloy Decals from China and South Korea is limited in Vietnam, and the import rates are between 2.53% and 34.27%.

The decision of the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade to review these import policies is aimed at supporting the local steel industry and contributing to the national economy. In order to get more information about the main reasons and consequences behind this decision, it is necessary to follow the current developments from the relevant authorities.
