It reported that the US imported 2.01 million net tons of steel in November, of which 1.76 million tons were finished steel products. These figures are 17.0% in total imports and finished steel compared to the previous month.
This reflects a 10.7% decrease in imports.
In the whole of 2022, total and finished steel product imports increased by 0.2% and 4.1%, respectively.
In the 12-month period, total and finished steel imports increased by 4.8% and 17.4%, respectively, compared to the same period of 2021.
The market share of finished steel imports in the US was estimated at 22% for November (22% prev) and 24% for the six months of 2022 (prev: 24%).
