According to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), U.S. steel mills increased their output in July by 8.9% y-o-y, rising from 7,160,731 net tons to 7,797,929 net tons.
This figure represents a 0.7% decline compared with the previous month of June, when production was 7,854,290 net tons.
Total shipments year-to-date have risen 4% compared with the same period last year, increasing from 50,920,412 net tons to 52,937,508 net tons.
By product, in the monthly period of 2025, shipments of corrosion-resistant sheet and strip increased by 2%, while hot-rolled sheet and strip rose by 2%, and cold-rolled sheet and strip declined by 5%.
