Steelmaker US Steel has increased its US hot rolled coil prices by $60 per short ton.
US Steel has set a base price of $680-700 for hot rolled coil and about $950 for cold rolled coil and galvanized coil.
It was announced that the price increases will apply to orders from US Steel's integrated steelworks, the USS-UPI plant in California, and Big River Steel's mini electric arc furnace (EAF) plant in Arkansas.
The company, which was prepared for a price increase in January, went for a price increase as the order volume reached saturation in December.
