US steel mill shipments decreased y/y

In April 2023, shipments by US steel mills amounted to about 7.5 million net tons, down 1.7% from April 2022 and up 1.7% from the previous month.

Shipments down by 5% in January-April

In the first four months of this year, shipments by US steel mills fell by 5% y-o-y to 28.9 million tons.

Shipments of hot-rolled thin sheet fell by 3%, cold-rolled thin sheet by 5% and corrosion-resistant flat products by 5%.
