Steel imports from U.S. metallurgical companies, one of the world's largest steel producers, decreased by 14.4% in January 2023 to 2.61 million tons. The volume of final products in total steel imports decreased by 12.2% to 2 million tons.
U.S. steel exports increased by 18.3% and exports of final products increased by 7.3%.
Canada was among the main import sources of the USA with 593 thousand tons, Mexico with 456 thousand tons and South Korea with 139 thousand tons.
