US rebar imports increased in March

US rebar imports increased on a monthly and annual basis in April this year, the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) reported.

US rebar imports increased in March

In April this year, US rebar imports totaled about 158,000 tons, up 106% from March and 70% from April of the previous year.

Imports from Algeria accounted for the largest share

Imports from Algeria were around 70,000 tons, from Mexico around 19,200 tons, from Egypt around 17,100 tons and from Turkey around 16,800 tons.

The value of imports during this period amounted to around US$ 108 million.
