US OCTG pipe imports dropped in May

In May 2023, US imports of oil-country tubular products (OCTG) fell by 48% m-o-m and 14% y-o-y to around 162,000 tons.

Imports from Canada ranked first

Imports from Canada totaled about 25,400 tons, South Korea about 22,000 tons, Thailand about 12,500 tons, Turkey about 12,200 tons and Taiwan about 11,800 tons.

Import value down by 48% mom

In this period, the value of imports decreased by 48% on a monthly basis and increased by 5.6% on an annual basis to approximately US$ 339 million tons.
