US HRC imports rise in August

In August of this year, imports of hot rolled coil (HRC) from the US stood at about 156,000 tons, up by 16.9% on a monthly basis and down by 17.2% on a yearly basis.

Imports from Canada were around 80,000 tons, Japan around 17,000 tons, South Korea around 16,000 tons, the Netherlands around 14,000 tons and Mexico around 11,000 tons.

The value of imports in this period amounted to around USD 148 million.
