US hot-rolled steel bar exports decreased in October

According to statistics from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US exported about 27,000 tonnes of hot-rolled steel bars in October this year, down 14% m-o-m and 18% y-o-y.

Among these, exports to Mexico accounted for the largest share with about 15,000 tonnes, down 22.1% m-o-m and 23.8% y-o-y. Canada ranked second with around 10,400 tonnes, while exports to other countries were not much higher.

During the period, the value of exports totalled around US$50 million, down 8.1% m-o-m and 6.7% y-o-y.
