U.S. crude steel production increased by 0.5% on a weekly basis and decreased by 1.4% y-o-y to 1,686 million short tons.
In the week ending March 18, the capacity utilization rate of U.S. steel plants increased by 0.4% on a weekly basis and decreased by 3.3% y-o-y to 75.4%.
In the period from the beginning of the year to March 18, U.S. crude steel production stood at 18,199 million short tons, with an annual decrease of 4.7% and capacity utilization of 74%.
