The Commerce Department also stated that Taiwan-based Yieh United Steel Company (YUSCO) did not make any shipments to the United States during this period. The 22 companies under review had no suspended entries during the period in question, and the review of these companies was partially canceled.
The US first imposed the current anti-dumping duty on Taiwanese products for the first time on July 27, 1999. On July 1, 2024, the Department of Commerce issued a notice of opportunity to request an administrative review and initiated an anti-dumping investigation involving 83 producers and exporters.
The two companies subject to individual review were Shiner Steel International Ltd (Shiner Steel) and Yuan Long Stainless Steel Corp (Yuan Long). As a result of this investigation, the weighted average dumping margin of both companies for the period July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024 was preliminarily determined to be 21.10%.
In addition, the investigations initiated for 58 companies were partially canceled in line with the application withdrawal requests filed by North American Stainless and Outokumpu Stainless USA, LLC on September 26, 2024. The Ministry of Commerce stated that none of the companies in question had a suspended entry during the POR and terminated the reviews on these companies.
