According to SteelRadar’s weekly EU quota assessment, while quota utilization rates for the April 1–June 30 period of EU steel imports are rising rapidly and have been fully exhausted in several product groups, it has been recorded that some countries have not yet used their allocations in certain categories.
Based on the data, China reached 100% utilization in specific items by using 128,348 tons in the 4B metallic coated sheets category, 7,006 tons in sheet piling, and 34,427 tons in the “other seamless pipes” category. India achieved full utilization in some products with 31,765 tons in stainless bars and light sections, 5,886 tons in seamless stainless pipes, and 225,305 tons in the HRC segment. Türkiye also reached 100% utilization in several categories, including 15,732 tons in organic coated sheets, 98,153 tons in wire rod, 84,033 tons in hollow sections, and 14,946 tons in large welded pipes.
The weekly review also noted that China used 128,348 tons out of a total quota of 129,502 tons in 4B metallic coated sheets, while India used 31,765 tons out of a 32,050-ton quota in stainless bars and light sections. Türkiye was also reported to be close to full allocation in several categories.
In addition, no usage was recorded yet for South Korea in silicon steel sheet (3A), Iran in silicon steel sheet (3A), the United Kingdom in stainless HR quarto plate, Bosnia and Herzegovina in rebar, Taiwan, South Korea, China, and Japan in stainless wire rod, the UAE in sheet piling, and the UK in sheet piling quotas.
Overall, the data shows that China, India, and Türkiye have reached full quota utilization in certain product groups, while usage remains limited or absent in other country-product categories.
