Export revenues in April totalled $75.3 million, down 20.6% from March, but up 71.7% year-on-year. In the first four months of 2024, Ukrainian steel companies exported 532.44 thousand tonnes of flat-rolled products, up 2.9 times year-on-year. The revenue generated during this period also increased by 2.6 times to 327.6 million dollars.
In January-April 2024, Ukrainian companies exported the most uncoated flat hot-rolled products; the volume of these products amounted to 448.04 thousand tonnes worth $ 266.64 million. However, in April, the export of such products fell by 19.8% in volume and 17.4% in revenue. Also in this period, 64.26 thousand tonnes of uncoated cold-rolled flat products were exported for $40.63 million, with a 49.4% drop in volume and 41.9% drop in revenue. Galvanised or other coated flat rolled products fell 33.2% in volume and 23.4% in revenue in April.
Poland (44.7 %) and Bulgaria (20.5 %) remained the most important consumers of Ukraine's uncoated hot-rolled flat products in monetary terms. Poland (36 %) and Italy (14.6 %) together consumed more than 50 % of uncoated cold rolled flat products. The main buyers of coated steel in the four months of this year were Poland (75.4 %) and Romania (17.7 %).
