In the first quarter of 2023, the most used product in the UK EU quotas was wire rod (alloy-non-alloy).
Among the quotas announced for 17 products, the highest usage was seen in the wire rod (alloy-unalloyed) group. The 2023 1st Quarter quotas, including the quotas for wire rod (alloy unalloyed) quotas transferred from the 4th quarter of 2022, were announced as a total of 394,480 tons. So far, 48,546/t of this has been used. The remaining quota was recorded as 345.934/t.
Only for wire rod, 1.017/t was used out of the announced quota of 8.128/t.
A high amount of quota transfers also took place in HRC and CRC last year.
A quota of 63,300/t was transferred from the last quarter of the last year of 2022 in CRC (Cold rolled coil). The total announced quota was 145.613 /t. So far, only 22,319 /t of this has been used.
In HRC (Hot rolled coil), 183,731/t was transferred from last year and a quota of 330,515/ t was announced. In the first quarter of 2023, only 28,095/t of them were used. The increasing sheet metal markets have also affected the use of quotas.
The light section profile and stainless steel quotas also progress slowly.
A total of 275.111/t was announced in the Merchant Bar and Light Section Profile (Alloy-Non-Alloy), while only 28.323/t of it was used.
From the quota of 6.528/t announced in the Stainless Bar and Light Section Profile, 1.885/t has been filled.
In the Hollow Section Profiles, the amount of quota remaining after the quota of 24,046/t used while the quota of 83,235/t was announced was recorded as 59,189/t.
For pipes, the lowest quota was given to Stainless Pipe (Seamless).
A quota of 5.131/t was announced for Stainless Pipe (Seamless). So far, only 92/t of this has been used.
Even 4/1 of the quota of 25.323/t announced in the welded pipe was not filled. The quota amount used was 3.384/t.
In wide-seam pipes, a quota of 14.034/t was left using 885/t of the quota of 14.919/t.
